EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT - NEW YOUTUBE VIDEO HAS BEEN UPLOADED!

If you are looking for inspiration for different ways to use your sourdough starter, I think you will really enjoy my newest YouTube video. This video will walk you through making sourdough bread and discard pizza recipes as I bring you into my kitchen to cook. I try to make the process as simple to follow as possible!
I get so many questions about not only making sourdough bread, but also wanting to know what can be done with the extra sourdough starter. Sometimes we feed our starter, thinking we are going to make several batches of bread (and we don't get around to it), and instead of throwing some away and wasting all of that amazing starter, we can refrigerate it and pull from it several times during the week for discard recipes. That's what I personally like to do. I will feed my starter so that it rises to fill the jar, and then after I take the active starter out for bread, I put the remainder in the refrigerator. Every few days, I will take it out and use it for discard recipes such as pancakes and pizza crusts.
In this new YouTube video, I demonstrate how easy it is to make a crust for pizza with unfed sourdough starter. I show two different topping ideas, one that has veggies, and one that is a Mexican themed pizza that even uses salsa as the base instead of pizza sauce! I've included my basic sourdough bread recipe in the video as well, and of course I discuss cooking times, oven temps and share lots of handy kitchen tips.
